Our Story: About the Company
Our family has been in business now for 40 years; started in 1982 by my father David “Chief” Reaves.
At that time there was not a lot of knowledge about, or perceived need for, water filtration. Most people just accepted that drinking from the tap was the only option. Dad began to research what was actually contained in municipal and community water.
He discovered there are actually many contaminants, especially chlorine, that are harmful for consumption. And in some areas, there was actually dirt and sediment that was passing through as well. He began to develop a desire and passion to educate people on water quality, and help them make changes. This initial desire to help people has remained and grown over the past 40 years.
Ours is the perfect Mom and Pop, small business story. A great American story.
Handwritten invoices and customer information cards. Handwritten balance sheets. Handshake contracts. Commitment to service and quality of product. Hard work. Traditional values. Taking extra time to talk to customers. Many times counseling with them and praying with them through tough times.
Chief saw this business as a way to help people not only with their water quality, but also with their life. There was a mutual respect and love for his customers. They were viewed as family.
Some of the technology has changed through the years. We actually enter our customer data thru computer software now! And much of the business can be conducted through a cell phone.
But we are still hands-on with our service. Regular maintenance on water filters and water coolers, ice machine cleaning and even distribution.
